Zoiper configuration for UcallWeconn VoIP
#1 Go to a website
You need to find a Download button.
#2 Download Zoiper
Choose a verrsion suitable for your OS.
Check out the page with Zoiper features, choose if you like to buy a business version or download a free one. Be aware about the limitations of the free version.
After you download and install Zoiper softphone, launch it for the first time. Zoiper made a good document on the download page, which can guide you while downloading and installing the software.
After you launched Zoiper for the first time, you need to create the accounts. If you do now want to use the services, provided by Zoiper, leave the fields blank and press Next button.
If you proceed without creating a Zoiper account, you will be asked if you're sure. If you're already here, OK button is your right choice.
#4 Configure a SIP account
You will be asked to configure your first account. By default you're offered to create a SIP account.
Enter conus.ucallweconn.net as a hostname into the field. Use your SIP Username and SIP Password details to enter them into other 2 fields on this screen. You can get your SIP Username and SIP Web PIN from our email, which we send exactly after successful registration.
Do not confuse SIP Username and SIP Web PIN with Web ID and Web PIN from the email. SIP Username and SIP Web PIN are used for setting up your SIP client. Web ID and Web PIN are used to access a restricted user area on this website. No vice versa usage!
After you press Next button, you will get this screen, but you need to make more steps to start calling.
#5 tune SIP account to make calls
Even if Zoiper is registered, you cannot place calls. Go to Settings, click on Preferences menu and follow the instructions on the next step.
#6 Mandatory advanced options configration. Do not skip this step
Make sure, you checked the "Show advanced options" checkbox on left lower corner of the window. It is important!
Click on the SIP account, which you've created on the previous steps (left upper corner).
When you click on the account, on the right side you will get the advanced settings of the account.
Fill Auth.username field with your SIP Username.
Check "Use outbound proxy" and enter conus.ucallweconn.net into the field, which becomes active after you clicked this checkbox.
In most cases you will need to check Use rport checkbox and in some cases Use rport media.
Click OK button.
Remember! After you have changed Zoiper's setting, you need to close the software and launch it again. We didn't notice, that it starts to use new settings right after the reconfiguration.
